Subject: Food and Drink in Classrooms
The food and drink policy pertains to all persons using classroom space at Roane State.
- All general classrooms (excluding those with carpet) will be open for food and drink. Exceptions for carpeted rooms may be made by academic deans and/or site directors or academic deans in the event a campus does not have a site director. for classes lasting longer than two hours.
- Individual faculty may establish a "no food and drink" policy for their class periods.
- Decisions on whether to allow food and drink in all labs (science, computer, healthcare, etc.) require consensus among faculty using labs each term, providing that universally accepted safety regulations such as those of OSHA, etc., are followed.
